HEAD COACH BIO:
WESTVIEW HIGH SCHOOLS' VARSITY HEAD COACH
My name is Kyle Williams, and I am the Head Football coach at Westview High School.
Over the past eighteen years, I have been preparing myself for the challenges associated with leading and refining a football program while inspiring young men to have great character and work ethic. During this time, I have been a Head Varsity Football Coach, an assistant Varsity football coach, a coach’s consultant at the high school, college, and NFL levels, and a teacher in the classroom. As a consultant, I have given presentations on technique and scheme to 17 of the 32 NFL teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons. I have clinic college teams in every major BCS conference in the country, including UCLA, Washington, Cal, Auburn, Texas A&M, Miami, LSU and Wisconsin. As their Head Coach for 3 years, I helped to guide Fallbrook High School to back to back league championships for the first time in school history. As a Defensive Coordinator, I have had the privilege of coaching in two Div. 1 CIF Championship games, winning one of them. As a consultant, I have had the opportunity to teach thousands of football coaches at all levels the best methods and techniques to enhance individual and team performance on the field for all positions; I possess thorough knowledge of fundamental techniques. The most important characteristic of a successful coach is his ability to teach. Games are not won by what a coach thinks he knows; they are won by what his players have learned. I have been fortunate to be raised by a father whose ultimate passion has been the acquisition of the greatest teaching strategies that football has to offer. Being alongside him in a consulting capacity, I have learned to pay attention to details. Persistence and perseverance regarding the details makes for a winning program.
Additionally, I believe the Westview football program will benefit from my strong character and ability to model and teach leadership, discipline, and teamwork. I am a positive person with a winning attitude. I know what it takes to win and I recognize a winner by judging a player’s performance and effort. I am extremely enthusiastic; I have a passion for this game that is rivaled by few, and my enthusiasm for the game is made clear through my tireless work ethic devoted to all phases of the program and my dynamic interactions with the players on and off the field. I am also demanding. A good football team is built on good habits and discipline. I am inquisitive, constantly improving my knowledge and teaching methods; and I am always prepared for meetings, practices, and games; and I am always prepared to work as a team player. Most of all, I am loyal, honest, and dedicated to my fellow coaches, the staff, the school, and the players.
My high school coaching experience includes:
2000-2001 Varsity Defensive Backs Coach, Poway High School
2002-2003 Varsity Defensive Backs Coach; Special Teams Coordinator, Mira Mesa High School
2004-2007 Varsity Defensive Coordinator, Poway High School
